Penn Institute for Urban Research 2017-2018 Annual Report

For the 2017–2018 Penn Institute for Urban Research Annual Report, I wanted to visually represent the interconnected nature of the way that Penn IUR works to bring people together, as well as the interconnected issues facing urban societies.

(Work done at Untuck with John & Amy Saal)

Images are carefully layered together to create a larger arrow shape, a symbol of forward thinking and ongoing research.

The subject matter of the images represent different areas of urban focus, from social to economic to environmental.

Layers of shifting colors—based on the Penn colors of red and blue—are used throughout the report to represent ideas and research expanding to new territories.
